It's crazy to think I am finally in another state. After being in California for so long it is refreshing to just say I am in Oregon. While there are still mountains, Oregon is significantly less elevation. This means bigger miles! Another popular challenge in the PCT world is the Oregon Challenge. To complete the challenge you have to hike Oregon in 14 days..... This comes out to roughly 30 miles a day. Thankfully Tallboy was not interested in this. Due to many closures we have no reason to rush through Oregon to make it to Canada on time.

One of the most popular spots in Oregon is Crater Lake. This is the deepest lake in the U.S. at 2,148 feet deep. The photo above is not photoshopped at all. It is known for its pristine water and the intense blue color. We hiked about 8 miles around the rim and it is one of my favorite parts of the trail. We also managed to catch the sunset from the rim and it was absolutely breathtaking!

that is crasey
We loved when we visited Oregon a few years ago and Crater Lake is absolutely the most beautiful thing I think I have ever seen. Safe travels Joseph!
Way to go Priscilla and Joe
