This past week I was invited by one of my best friend's mom AND my former 4th grade teacher to come speak to her 4th grade classes about my upcoming hike of the PCT. It was incredible to see the genuine curiosity of all these kids.

Since the social studies class was a rotating class, I had the opportunity to speak with all three different 4th grade classes. While each student prepared their own questions, there were a few questions that the classes shared in common. The top questions were:
Where do I go to the bathroom?
What happens if I run out of food and water?
What happens if I break a bone or get hurt?
Will I be able to wash my clothes?
What will I eat?
It was inspiring to see these kids who had never met me cared so much about my safety!

I want to thank Mrs. Zirtzman for inviting me to come speak to all her students! I hope they learned a lot and were inspired to push themselves and think about things they never thought they could do. They certainly inspired me with their curiosity and excitement. I look forward to returning in the fall to speak to them and telling them all about my journey.

How supportive and cute that is!!! You’re going to do great Joseph!!
